Our Representations
NAISA is recognised as a primary stakeholder representing the independent schooling sector in South Africa.
NAISA has a communication protocol agreement with, and is recognised as the representative of independent schools in South Africa by, the following statutory bodies and structures:
- The Department of Basic Education (DBE), which has the following structures where NAISA is represented:
- HEDCOM Sub-committee on Independent Schools
- HEDCOM Sub-committee – Teacher Development and Curriculum Management (TDCM)
- HEDCOM Sub-committee – National Examination and Assessment Committee (NEAC)
- HEDCOM Sub-committee – Education Management Information System Committee (EMIS)
- NAISA has representation on the following bodies and structures:
- ETDP SETA BOARD (Accounting Authority)
- ETDP SETA EXCO
- ETDP SETA Quality Assurance Committee of the Board
- ETDP SETA Human Resource Committee
- ETDP SETA Schooling Chamber
- ETDP SETA Information Technology Governance Committee
- NAISA is represented on the South African Council of Educators Council (SACE Council)
- NAISA has a framework for consultation with the Umalusi Council of Quality Assurance of General and Further Education and Training.
