Members of the NAISA EXCO had a productive meeting with the newly-appointed Minister of Basic Education, the Hon Siviwe Gwarube, at the DBE Headquarters, 222 Struben Street, Pretoria. NAISA’s presentation covered an overview of the organization, challenges with subsidy payments to independent schools, the delays in regulating online schools and the rights of parents to choose an educational philosophy which was different from the National Curriculum Statement.
The Minister appreciated the inputs made by NAISA and undertook to have a follow-up meeting within three months.
